IN MEMORIAM...CIRCUS BARUM

In 1878, by the East Prussian animal dealer Carl Froese Königsberg,it's founded the Barum's American caravan menagerie. After the death of Carl Froese in 1907, his daughter Helen took over the menagerie together with her husband, the animal trainer Arthur Kreiser . 1935 Margaret Kreiser-Barum( born in 1902) the daughter of Helen and Arthur , continued the family business. She brought the circus successfully through the years of World War II until the company was destroyed in a bomb attack 1944. 1946 Margaret Kreiser-Barum make a new beginning and toured with a new "Circus Barum" until her death in 1970. From 1972. Gerd Siemoneit-Barum showed his predatory animal training until 2002 and remained until the end of senior ringmaster.
On 15 September 2008, is announced that the circus BARUM stop with his activity.
On 26 October 2008 was the last performance of the Circus Barum in Northeim.The tent was high at its highest point 18 m and was supported by four poles, and captured 2,000 visitors. Nearly 40 men were responsible for setting up the tent.The maintenance costs the circus, every day, amounted to 11,000 euros, 800 euros was earmarked for the feed costs of about 60 performing animals, including the white rhino bull Tsavo (over 30 years old and 3.3 tons). This has been taken over by mitllerweile Circus Krone. The music came from an eleven-piece live orchestra. The winter quarters of the circus was in Volksen Einbeck.
