CIRCUS RONCALLI

Circus Roncalli is a German circus founded in 1976 by Bernhard Paul and André Heller. According to Bernhard Paul, the name was inspired by a film script of his fellow Austrian Peter Hajek, "Sarah Roncalli, Tochter des Mondes" ("Sarah Roncalli, daughter of the moon", sometimes also cited as "widow of the moon"). The reminiscence to the popular Pope John XXIII (1881–1963), whose legal name was Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, served as a key to the success.The first performance of the circus was on 18 May 1976 on the Hofgartenwiese in Bonn, and the tour finished on 16 August 1976 in Munich. After the first season, Paul and Heller disagreed about the concept and rights, so that at the next performance on 4 June 1980 in Cologne, Bernhard Paul directed the circus on his own. Since then, the circus has toured in Germany and abroad, including the first appearance of a West German circus in the Soviet Union in 1986.The winter quarters of the circus have been at Neurather Weg 7 in Mülheim, Cologne since 1984. The building belonged to Circus Williams beforehand, and was rebuilt to accommodate Circus Roncalli, following which it was officially opened on 27 April 1986.Bernhard Paul owns one of the largest circus collections in Europe, including old costumes, circus books and posters, which he plans to display in a museum.

RONCALLI IN WIEN (12.10.2011.)

Circus Roncalli is entertaining, old fashion but at the same time a very modern circus. They have a super circus orchestra managing a lot of musical styles and everything is great here. The owner Bernhard Paul have a fantastic and very entertaining business presenting top artists from the best class. We saw Roncalli in Wien on a very rainy day (12.10.2011.)and saw a sold out wednesday evening performance. Roncalli is more than beautiful, so well taken care of, is rare to see elsewhere. Everything is nice and clean and trucks and trailers here are worth the ticket price alone. In Roncalli the show starts when you have bought the ticket, where the circus band plays when you are waiting for entering the circus tent. Inside it is fantastic sorrundings with a great atmosphere.Crises in the German circus business?..Maybe...but here in Wien, performance was completely sold out.

Roncalli is a great circus with a fantastic performance. No doubt, that Roncalli is one of the best entertainments in Europe and not many Circuses can reach this level. Thoughts behind everything makes the circus and the performance very complete. Lots of souvenir items for the audience and the spectators. Very well equipped bar with all kinds of drinks.

No, najviše nas veseli činjenica što ćemo na licima tih osoba djece i odraslih vidjeti osmjehe. Oni su neprocjenjivi", istaknula je organizatorica turneje Dunja Jozić - Hristov.

THE CROATIAN CELEBRITY IN CIRCUS MONTE CARLO

Circus Monte Carlo from Thursday is in Zagreb. On the evening premiere in the audience was croatian celebrity as Neven Ciganović, Pamela Ramljak from girl band Femminem with her boyfriend, Elizabeth Gojan with their sons, Vedran Strukar, Mister of Croatia Vanja Grgeca, opera singer Ronald Braus, Snježana Mehun and others. Through the program the audience was entertained by clowns, jugglers, gymnasts and acrobats and a dog, who, as they say, a family member. Specifically, Monte Carlo is one of a number of European circus, which no longer keeps the animals. So we asked the celebs what they liked, whether in childhood and if they missing animals in Monte Carlo circis show.

Neven Ciganović: To me, most interesting thing was men in tights



Neven Ciganović revealed that he especially liked the brothers gymnasts who perform special acrobatic points. "I can say that I didn't go in circus since my childhood . Especially, I liked men in tights. I like a girl with hula - hoop," he said with a laugh during a break while drinking champagne. I miss animals in the circus, but this circus is really cool ', "says Neven.
With Neven there was also Snježana Mehun."This circus is retroand I like it. I don't have courage to climb up on stage, but as a kid I went to the circus with my parents, and now I took my son," she told us.
Ronald Braus told us: "Wow, this circus is so sweet. I thought that I would really miss the animals, but when I saw what people can do i realized how much fun and convenient it can be. The audiance who participate in the show was also very nice. I saw that they resisted, but they and we had so much fun. He added with a laugh: " You never know what awaits you when you are called to participate in the show. If they asked me I would climb on the stage because I have no problem with that. "He says that as a kid, he enjoyed in the numerous plays. "As a kid I go to the circus every time when the circus was in town. I grew up in Rovinj, and every year we have one traveling circus.I remember Moira Orfei and many other circuses", says Ronald.



Elizabeta Gojan came with her sons. Elizabeth also liked the circus show, and when we asked her about animals, she says: "I love animals in circuses. I remember the animals circuses from my childhood and I think that children who doesn't have that experience, really don't now the magic of tigers, elephants and horses in circus, but we like Monte Carlo dogs.They are very funy".



Pamela Ramljak from FEMMINEM also had a great time at the circus. "It's great, I love to go to the circus. I visited some circuses while I was in Vienna. This is a smaller but no less good circus.It's a shame that people here in Croatia have no tradition of going to such events, it's fun," said Pamela . "I miss some animals, but the dogs are great and the stunts too. A clown laughed me to tears," she told.

When you connect love and passion for the circus arts, friends and all the nice people who surround you, you get the best vacation in your life..Thank you dear Elvio, thank you Samantha, Gianni, Lenny, Giovanni, SueEllen, Susan, Dimerson, Belinda, Nieves, Deborah, Jean Pierre .. all the wonderful people and new friends for a wonderful experience, smiles..We spent a perfect two weeks in your little town, in your home.... And just when we thought that we know all about the circus life, you showed us a lot more..We had the chance to experience something completely new, but again, so well known..Pictures always speak more than words..But, these are not the ordinary pictures .. these pictures tell you the most beautiful story .. the one about the circus, love, friendship and enjoyment in life..in any part of it!
